The below are some of the comments the team thought were relevant to this question:

• There’s already been lots of work from community groups in schools over time, how can we share this? We could learn and develop work from previous experiences.

• To what extent should the community involve themselves in schools? How much time would be needed?

• What funding is there? How is it planned to be used?

• How will businesses, minority ethnic groups and other community groups be involved?

• When will they be involved? Should we wait until the basic aims and ideas about the project have been established by the schools and childcare/education professionals?

• How will the project be promoted to these groups?

• In what ways can we show that being involved in this project will add value to their organisations?

• There have been previous attempts at engaging the community with schools, if this project is successful, how can we ensure it’s sustained after the project end?
