Around 70 local residents, artists and environmental enthusiasts came together at Peterborough Town Hall in late October for an evening of unusual insights into the natural world.
Cross Pollination, the first event of our Talking Arts series, explored many perspectives on the word ecology. These included Keely Mills’s introduction to the dynamic arts environment within Peterborough...
Peter and Andy Holden’s presentation ‘On Nesting’ that was a rich and thoughtful lecture on the design and rationale of birds’ nests...
Fantastic food provided by The Green Backyard, as well as a presentation by co-director Sophie Antonelli on climate change.
The evening finished with a presentation by Marcus Coates on his work in creating his film, Dawn Chorus, an inter species exploration of song and a lively discussion on all these ideas. (If you'd like to take a look at Dawn Chorus, click here for some excerpts.)
It was a great opportunity to enact a cross pollination of ideas!
Stay tuned for details of the second Talking Arts event in Spring 2012.
