Citizen Power: Peterborough

How did you fail to invite Gerry Warren of Eco Art Projects to your recent event? Is his award-winning work no longer considered acceptable by the RSA?

Furthermore, how did the RSA decide on who it should invite? Benedict Dellot has been invited to visit the EAP allotment and he has failed to do so, despite promising to do so on two separate occassions. His colleagues Jamie Young, Sam Mclean and Jocelyn Cunningham have all visited and had nothing but praise for his work.

So why has the RSA failed to invite Gerry to become a member of this particular network?

Hi Wayne,

ChangeMakers were selected using a particular research method called 'social network analysis'. We began by asking 40 or so individuals to name anybody who they thought was a ChangeMaker. We then asked those who were named to put forward their own suggestions of ChangeMakers. We did this for several 'waves' and amassed around 300 names in total. The benefit of using this method is that it acts as an independent and fair process for identifying ChangeMakers, based on who the ChangeMakers themselves know, rather than relying on who those in the council know.

With regards to the allotment, I believe that I said I would try to find a time to attend. Up until now, I haven't yet had the opportunity to spend time at the allotment. That said, I may be in Peterborough at some point next week and will email you directly about meeting up.

Thanks

Ben

And can you provide evidence of these results? Thanks.

Certainly. I will email as much information as I am allowed to later today. Unfortunately, I will be unable to provide anything more than names due to necessary data protection.

Thanks

Ben

Ok- understood. thanks.

So what's all this about the changemakers strand working on 'corporate social responsibility'?. Gerry's done significant work on this issue with ProFoRWM. how come you have managed to ignore his contribution- yet again??

Not looking very good is it? Anyone would think you RSA types only want those who don't ask awkward questions!! lol!
