Citizen Power: Peterborough

In the recent Werrington plan, a very high percentage of the residents of Werrington supported the idea of keeping Cuckoo Hollow as an Environmental area.
At present the Ward Councillors and Werrington Neighbourhood Council are working with the Local Authority to establish a more active group within the area to seek out any funding possibilities to keep this lake up to a high standard of natural beauty.
It is in my opinion in dire need of a deep dredge to allow deeper water for fish to survive better in and also a planned maintenance programme so that local schools can get involved in some of the projects. These are my ideas and what is needed is it to be the Communities ideas, so more people need to come together to help look after this wonderful place.
If you are interested in helping with "Friends of Cuckoo Hollow" please keep in touch.

John, a timebanking scheme would help to encourage volunteers to look after Cuckoo Hollow. Please go to www.timebanks.co.uk for more info. Cheers!
Hi John - reserving Cuckoo Hollow as an environmental area sounds like an excellent idea, perhaps you could keep us posted via this website? I'd love to know how your plans develop and what, if any, challenges you have to overcome on the way. Great to meet you last week at the Citizen Power launch!
