Emily Henderson commented on Susannah Willcox's blog post Dialogue in Action - Call for Expressions of Interest
"Just run this through my Councilspeakbollocksese To English Translator and it's come up with this:   Dialogue in Action is a bunch of people sat in a room as we try and figure out why no one in Pboro likes art. If you work for the council,…"

Emily Henderson replied to RSA Projects Team's discussion Social media in Peterborough in the group Social Media
"Hi, Did you know that you guys, along with the WHOLE arts / alternative scene in Peterborough are INVISIBLE online?   Put peterborough into google, twitter, facebook and you get pubs and football.   I moved here 18 months ago and have felt…"

Profile Information

Where are you from?
Darlington (Originally)
Have you lived in Peterborough long?
Lived here a year and a half, worked here for several years
What is your own vision for Peterborough?
To be somewhere people choose to live, and not just because they can't afford Cambridge.
To be somewhere I would invite my friends too rather than head up to Liverpool / Manchester / Newcastle / London because it's so much better there.
One thing you'd like to change about the place?
A place for small people to set up shop and sell unique and hopefully handmade items. Like Quiggins in Liverpool.

I'll start with a pop up shop like Made in Newcastle though.
What areas of the Citizen Power project are you most interested in?
The stuff that does things I like....? Don't know yet!
What's your favourite place to eat in Peterborough?
One of the Boats
Favourite place to go?
There are no decent hang out spots here.
If a Martian came to Peterborough, what would you show him/her/it to explain what the place was about?
Cathedral Square worth £12.8 million, and Cash Generators for the people who sell 5 DVDs for £2.50 so they can get some food.
Tell us some more about yourself
I'm a freelance broadcast journalist with a strong interest in arts, crafts, comedy, theatre etc. Except I tend to hate Arts organisations.

I'm just too down to earth / cynical, I guess.
