Hello Julian, welcome to the Citizen Power website, thanks for joining.
You mention that you'd like to hear more about the programme so here is a quick introduction.
We've not finished the programme yet. Overall that is due to happen in July 2012, some of the projects may finish a bit before then though. There are six different projects happening in Peterborough as part of Citizen Power. They are called:
- arts and social change
- civic commons
- sustainable citizenship
- peterborough curriculum
- recovery capital
- civic health
There is more information on all of these projects in the different 'groups' on this website, in a nutshell these are all responding to locally identified needs and priorities, collectively it is hoped that this work will led to a greater sense of attachment and belonging to Peterborough, a greater sense of empowerment and confidence to respond to local issues, become more involved in local life and generate further innovative local projects responding to local issues.
Do get in touch with the project (also called strand) leads directly for more information. They'd love to tell you more.
We are trying to improve the information on this website all the time to make it reflect what is going on, this is lots! For example, we recently added the twitter feed so that all tweets also appear here . We've also got some video footage from a recent Creative Gathering and the last Civic Commons meeting which is currently being edited. All this content will be linked to a new Facebook page which has been set up www.facebook.com/peoplecreatechange. So you can pick your social media of choice.
If you've any further questions feel free to get in touch, I'm the Programme Manager and co-ordinate what is happening.
