For the city to pull itself out of Tesco's Basic's mentality and practise - to actually provide a better quality of life for all
One thing you'd like to change about the place?
For people to feel like they could do something about all the things they complain about, for there to be more ambition which is rooted in real people's beliefs and desires, for active communities, for there to be equal investment across the city
What areas of the Citizen Power project are you most interested in?
Arts, education, community action and participation, enviroment, families and schools.
What's your favourite place to eat in Peterborough?

Central Park
If a Martian came to Peterborough, what would you show him/her/it to explain what the place was about?
I would walk them from Central Park, via Dogsthorpe, and then the length of Lincoln Road
Tell us some more about yourself
I am a theatre director, workshop leader, Mum, wife, neighbour, school governor. I moved here from Manchester and was shocked by the lack of pride in the place, and then more shocked to see the reasons why. But I like where I live - because of the people I live and work with and nearby.

It's a YES, well nearly.

I have just heard back from Escalator 2010 and my application for a grant from the scheme has been given the green light. This is not the same as a “yes”, but basically it’s a rubber stamp from Escalator and now I have to submit an application for the Arts Council grants scheme –…

Hi Kate, just wanted to say how much I enjoyed "Our Nobby". It was excellent and incredibly moving. I do hope lots of people will support it as it definitely worth seeing. Great that its a story that focusses on our city and its personality in such a positve way. Despite having to wipe away a few tears I left feeling uplifted. Congratulations!

Thanks for your suggestions Kate - I'll follow them up! The old cemetery sounds wonderful - I haven't seen it but will have to make a visit!

Yes Kate but it’s probably best to email me at my work

toby.wood@peterborough.gov.uk so that I can then share your message with my assistant director (Mel Collins). I don’t want my LA thinking that I’m ‘going off half cock’ on my own.

I’m just off to Bristol for a few days so won’t respond properly until next week if that’s OK.

Toby
