"They had their meeting. Unfortunately for them they had in their midst, invited, a fifth columnist. He asked all the right questions. Like how did they select who to invite. Apparently they asked people who represent local groups, thinkers from…"

Civic Commons

The Civic Commons will be a space where local people, local decision-makers and leading thinkers from around the world can discuss new ideas and design and implement solutions to the issues that matter to them.

Kevin Roddis commented on RSA Projects Team's blog post Sam McLean: "Civic engagement needs more forward thinking"
"Gazing at ones navel is so easy. Actually demonstrating more forward thinking in Civic engagement however requires a little more effort. In a galaxy far, far away there exists a small metropolis. The metropolis fathers want to convince the local…"

Kevin Roddis commented on David Over's blog post Rural Peterborough
"Hardly a rant Keely. I would add every area of Peterbough, rural, suburb or centre deserves to have a say in how their neighbourhood develops. Marco is on this site extolling the virtues of Neighbourhood Councils and how he wants 'the…"

I don't mind not going to a meeting if it means physically attending a location. I don't want to do that at all. I just want them to make clear on the website or whichever social communication method they like what happened, what was said, and what conclusions were drawn.
Maybe I haven't grasped the navigation on here, but I can't seem to find much in the way of communication, apart from your good self of course.

In fact I didn't join them but I have now.
So what happened?

No they seem to keep me in the dark.
There's a good example of citizen power in the making on the ET article about plans to build flats in Fletton here:

http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/news/local/fletton_flat_plans_get_council_approval_1_1144186?commentspage=0.

I think the most relevant thing to do in the present situation is to resist evictions if they start to become unreasonable. it's OK to repossess a couple of buy-to-lets but it's not OK to start chucking people out on the street in order to leave the buildings standing empty. It's already happening with workplaces.

Kevin.

I made this one earlier:

peterborough.posterous.com

That's sufficiently neutral for anyone I would have thought, and of course, entirely unfunded. Power to the People and Horses for Hay.
