Profile Information

Where are you from?
Bishop's Stortford, Herts (??)
Have you lived in Peterborough long?
2 years
What is your own vision for Peterborough?
I'd like to see Peterborough with a greater sense of community and self-identity, as this gives a place its buzz. Despite having much to offer I think Peterborough is sadly lacking in this.
One thing you'd like to change about the place?
I'd like there to be a greater choice of independent and higher quality of food, art, culture, fashion and music establishments and events. Higher quality doesn't have to mean higher cost either.
What areas of the Citizen Power project are you most interested in?
Sustainable community projects. Art and design projects.
What's your favourite place to eat in Peterborough?
The food at East is excellent.
Favourite place to go?
Central park, near where I live.
If a Martian came to Peterborough, what would you show him/her/it to explain what the place was about?
I often have Martians come to visit from Bristol or London, and I show them the cathedral, and drink takeaway coffee in the cloister.
Tell us some more about yourself
I am a Water Quality Scientist, and I work for Anglian Water. Despite being a scientist I am a very creative person, and have a big interest in art and design and particularly 'upcycling'. I'm really into sustainability, and I think there is a huge power in community projects. I strongly believe that a greater focus on community is the most desirable (and sustainable) future for our society.. and ermm.. I'd like to do something to get there. I'd like to volunteer.
