I don't live in Peterborough - I live in a VILLAGE called Thorney! You choose for it to be in Peterborough.....!I have been here since 1975.
What is your own vision for Peterborough?
The Heritage authorities and groups in the city have led the way, leadership particularly coming from Peterborough Museum which has a wide outlook and uses lateral thinking., and long may this continue with Vivacity.
It would be superb if the City Council carries on implementing plans like taking down unsightly buildings.
Please make the City greener with more trees. Such a good example on entry roads and Ferry Meadows, and the City Parks. More pocket Parks? Extend the help a little more to places that YOU say are part of Peterborough, but don't always get the attention that the City itself does.
I would like to see the spray-weedkiller men get a bit more training so that the edges of green at the side of the roads don't just get killed off willy-nilly, but if there is a weed 2 inches in, please kill that instead; if what you want is tidier and less unsightly edges, then please come along with a little cutter to tidy the edge, and save on "weed"killer. I love to see some wild flowers, not sprayed and dying verges.
One thing you'd like to change about the place?
The name of the Unitary Authority, which in my opinion was always a mistake. Peterborough could have been - for example - in Petershire, Petersham....anyway, it isn't ,which doesn't make any sense at all if you live 7 miles away. I have no objection to the postcode, which is a different organising principle.
The fountains were another shallow mistake. Instead, why didn't "you" put a toughened glass floor over a small area so that tourists - and locals - could see some of the things excavated beneath???? And I hope the square will somehow have some trees - even if they have to be small ones in barrels because of the historical things beneath.
Peterborough City Centre seems to lack green trees.
What areas of the Citizen Power project are you most interested in?
The volunteers at Flag Fen are doing their very best but they need support. WHY does the Lottery not support them? Why isn't there a small bus to go between town and Flag Fen and other cultural sights of interest? This site is one of the biggest in Europe and has been really well set up.
What's your favourite place to eat in Peterborough?
During the day: Frattelli's in the Arcade in the Rivergate Centre!
