Promoting recovery in Peterborough

Talk about 'recovery groups' can often lead to a discussion of 12 step based groups, SMART groups, service-user groups and so on. These types of groups are fairly easy to understand from the ‘outside’ and thanks to the media portrayal of some recovery groups, there can sometimes be a narrow view of them. They can follow particular formats, they can have certain traditions or rules and they can aim for specific outcomes that may be measurable. But there are also those recovery groups that are…See More

Recovery Capital Pilot Co-design Event at Peterborough Town Hall

Thumbnail
January 17, 2012 from 10am to 2pm
What better way to start the new year than to help design exciting new pilots that will help to make recovery a reality for more people across Peterborough? We hope this…See More

Transitioning to a new life: recovery & rehabilitation

Massive overcrowding, high rates of re-offending, and an estate largely built for a Victorian-variety punishment and retribution. Not the most stable of foundations on which to build a ‘rehabilitation revolution’ or even the watered down proposal for working prisons. They're not new challenges either. But the responses are getting interesting! I’m sure we all have our own idea about what prisons are for, usually falling within the trusty ideals of punishment, retribution or rehabilitation.…See More
