For the first time there will be a designated poetry tent at the 'Peterborough Arts Festival' over the weekend of the 9-10th of July and to celebrate this we want to commission three local poets to write a fifteen minute set of new material to be performed on the 10th of July. There is a fee of £80 to each poet for their work and performance. A place where I can access everything that I need culturally, environmentally and educationally. That I am part of a vibrant and an exciting city that still holds onto a sense of community and its grassroots.
One thing you'd like to change about the place?
I feel we need at least two unique venues dedicated to the arts.

Tell us some more about yourself
I was the Poet Laureate of Peterborough for 2009 and that means I still get to advocate and support the cracking poetry scene which is alive and well in this fair fen city. I perform all over and help organise different nights at the several different venues, under the guise of Muddy Poetry-check them out and also look at the Speakeasy night as we have had some of the cream of Spoken word, if poss come down and grace us!! I am also the project manager for Platform Peterborough which is part of Eastern Angles theatre co, please check their website: http://www.easternangles.co.uk/
I enjoy art, spoken word, comedy, film, being really silly in fields and with friends, I love cooking meals for friends and family, and trying things and doing things that might at first seem impossible!!! xx
