Citizen Power: Peterborough

I can't begin to tell you how brilliant the 'expressing recovery' activities have been.

Yesterday was the third week of activities for the Recovery Capital project and again resulted in great discussions, sharing of experiences, giving each other advice and relaxing in a warm and friendly environment with a cuppa and some mince pies. It was brilliant. There is a really good group forming amongst those attending the activities - there may have even been mention of them setting up their own independent peer led group... Watch this space!

The main activities yesterday - apart from the above - revolved around making keyrings that advertise the free phone recovery helpline that few people seem to be aware of.  The phone line is availab

le 24 hours a day everyday even over Christmas and New Year and so will be a great support while services are shut for the holidays.

These are just some of them - the pictures show both sides of the same keyrings. We hope to distribute them across the city to help spread the word and keep more people safe and on track over the coming weeks which, as we know, can be one of the most difficult times for someone in recovery.

By the way - due to popular demand we will be holding another one next week!  Wednesday 14 December, 2-5pm at St Mary's Church on New Road, Peterborough.
